Together with S&G Real Estate Management GmbH, MHG Munich Hoteldevelopment Group GmbH was realizing a hotel complex consisting of two buildings designed by Gerber Architects. The hotel opened its doors in February 2020.

This adds 530 rooms to the number of beds available in the trade fair city. 337 of these rooms are located in the H2 Hotel and 193 in the Hyperion Hotel. H2 Hotels is the budget-conscious and design-oriented brand of H-Hotels AG; Hyperion is the luxury business brand of the family-run hotel company.

The special characteristic of these two hotels is the connective architecture, thereby requiring only one back-of-the-house area including offices and kitchen. But synergies don’t stop there. Congress participants can choose between rooms in various price categories and staff can be deployed flexibly, for example.

As Leipzig is among the top 10 German locations for city breaks, this hotel complex created a significant increase in capacity of the hotel market.

Also, the increasing number of inquiries in the congress sector promise a successful future. For it is exactly this group of inquirers that both hotels serve perfectly: Hyperion has four conference rooms, each measuring 100 square meters. In addition, it features four meeting rooms of 40 square meters each as well as an executive lounge. Furthermore, there is a fitness and wellness area of 250 square meters on the sixth floor. The H2 Hotel also provides two meeting rooms with 50 square meters each. “These facilities, the close proximity to the main railway station and thus ideal transport connection speak for our location,” says Iris Welteke as operator of both hotels.
